2025 marks the city's 850th birthday – and no birthday party is complete without cake!
The theme this year is “Celebrating 850 Years of Glasgow”
We're inviting all bakers to create a masterpiece that celebrates Glasgow's rich history, iconic landmarks, and legendary personalities.
Your cake must reflect the celebration of Glasgow's 850th Birthday and its culture. From the grandeur of the Glasgow Cathedral to the iconic Barrowland Ballroom, perhaps you’ll find inspiration in some of the city’s famous architecture? Or take your queue from one our great innovators, like Charles Rennie Mackintosh, or historic icons like Mary, Queen of Scots who came to Glasgow after her escape from the Lochleven Castle.
Cakes need to be delivered to the SEC Glasgow on the 22nd of May, between 15:00pm-17:00pm.

Originality and creativity of design
Overall visual impact
Skills and execution of technique
Interpretation of the theme
Cake must fit within a base area of 38cm x 38cm (15" x 15") square
No height restrictions
Cake will not be judged on taste; they are solely judged on appearance.
Any edible medium may be used and wires, tape, ribbon and stamen are allowed.
Internal supports and dummies are allowed.
