Alex Bremner (87), is an RAF Veteran. On completing an apprenticeship with the London, Midland & Scottish Railway Company in 1956, aged 21, he signed up for his mandatory National Service with the Royal Air Force. He was based at RAF Bridgnorth in Shropshire. Alexander was an electrical fitter and the work he did was on three special types of planes, bombers to be exact, the V bombers which were the RAF aircraft during the 1950s and 1960s that comprised the United Kingdom's strategic nuclear strike force known officially as the V force or Bomber Command Main Force. Alex was a very keen cyclist and he enjoys visiting the bikes in the Physiotherapy gym at Erskine. Alex loves keeping fit and walks every day in the beautiful grounds of the Erskine Veterans Village. He has attended Erskine events such as the Erskine Military Jubilee Ball and the Burns Supper.
