Albert Lamond (97) is a Royal Navy Veteran being cared for in The Erskine Home Glaswegian born and bred Albert is a WW2 Veteran who joined the Royal Navy in 1943 at the age of 17, serving as a signalman. He had six weeks of training in Chatham before volunteering for signalling on the bridge. He knew he wanted to serve but not in the Army or RAF so Navy it was. Albert has many medals from his four years of service including an Arctic Star, Ushakov Medal and Légion d'honneur . Albert attend the Erskine Reid Macewen Activities Centre for several years before making Erskine his home. He is enjoying all Erskine has to offer.
